Ikea Skadis wardrobe

Sometimes, little mistakes lead to great ideas. For instance, when you forget to buy a wardrobe for your daughter’s new room.

In the past, we always just bought cheap, child-friendly wardrobes that usually didn’t last very long. This time, though, we simply forgot to pick one up while shopping for furniture, and honestly, I couldn’t be bothered to make another trip to the furniture store in all that stress.

That’s when my wife came up with a brilliant idea: “We’ve still got that spare Skadis board lying around, can’t we do anything with that?”

I would have been surprised if someone else hadn’t already had the same idea. So, Creality K1 and Printables to the rescue!

I quickly found a suitable hook design and printed it three times.

Mounted the Skadis board, fitted the hooks, and that is what it looks like now:

Eine Skadis Platte an eine lila Wand. Oben ein Drahtkorb gefült mit Haarreifen, links davon ein Einhorn Haarreif mit Blumen, unten drei 3D gedruckte Haken an denen Taschen und Jacken hängen. A skadis pegboard in front of a purple wall. On top a wire basket filled with headbands etc, left a unicorn headband with flowers, at the bottom three 3D printed hooks with bags and coats hanging on it.

The best part? Unlike other wardrobes, you can also attach little baskets, clips, and other accessories to store more than just jackets. I’m really happy with it, and if a hook ever breaks, it’s no problem, just print a new one in no time.
